Creating Flow 2 – core process update

It has been two months now since I attended the crash course with Thomas.
The course did make me see I am traveling into a inspirational direction already and gave me extra strength in creating my own path, including new ways of dealing with business concepts.

Several nice things are happening simultaneously:
- The Creating Flow LinkedIn group is full energy: exploring what flow means to yourself and others, how getting energy flow online/offline, relationship of flow and creativity (learned a lot there thanks dutch ecademy members Ronald Wopereis, Laura van den Brink, Ron Van Uden)
- I revised my website, based on the core Creating Flow - and added Sibren Inspires with new products. Making video's now to put them on it.
- Started the BoardRoom Creating Flow (yes, named to my core)

    Success with design is measurable

Herewith an article from the Reddot institute to share.

It does not need any proof to me, but in organisations investment for communication and design are often seen as costs in stead of great help to succeed.

Result of ORS-attitude: “If you need anything call Sibren”

Just sharing a successtory because I am really happy wink

Recently I visited an international company, a client who has been taken over a year ago and has a completely new marketing/communication strategy. The partner who bought the company had his own communication agency (a big one) who did all the work for them.

In spite of loosing attention, I continued visiting the company to talk with the employees and new people of the marketing department. I did some small things like small boeklets, posters and banners. I kept all lines open and pro-active giving idea's for smarter solutions.

And this week when I visited the company again I heared the head Marketing telling to a collegue: "If you need anything call Sibren." I did not really pay attention to it. Untill today, today the coin dropped: I am the preferred supplier now!

Copyright vs. ORS: The dilemma and the solution

This blog is translated from Dutch by Jo Hughes an Ecademy member who spontaniously translated this Dutch Posting for me. Thanks Jo!

An iffy subject I bump into on a daily basis in my line of work (design) is that of copyright.

As indicated by Lisa in this Dutch blog post, copyright is a matter beyond control. An out-of-date business model often leaving me to face practical dilemmas.

I believe ORS (Open, Random & Supportive) working cannot be combined with copyright as it currently is.

    A few examples:

    Do you have paradigm paralysis?

Today I recieved a newsletter of our Ecademy-member Bob Nicoll with the title "Do you have paradigm paralysis?"

I like to share the article because the text is worth to be spread!
And I agree, fucus is the key to improve clarity of your articulation. That's where the shift starts!
When I speak people who wants a design for anything, my first question is: "what do you want to achieve on the long-term?". It's clear for me: without focus, communication is just "a shot in the sky".

    Please read it!

Thank you to Allen N. from Phoenix for this week's Ice Chip inspiration. He accessed Wikipedia while looking for a definition of: Paradigm; and found this:
